Historic Colorado & Red Rocks

Experience iconic Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, mountain pathways and the historic town of Golden.

About Your Trip

Journey to iconic Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre for a tour of the amphitheater, visitor center, wall of fame and museum. Absorb the ambience and beauty of the storied place that has hosted world-class concerts and events. Continue through the scenic mountains, passing by a buffalo farm on the way to a special gold mine location. Enjoy a thrilling drive to the top of Lookout Mountain to visit Buffalo Bill’s grave. From there, Lookout Mountain Road will take you through the former gold rush town of Golden for you to spend time browsing the shops and walking along to snap photos of the creek that runs through town.

In your ample leisure time, check out many of the highly unique aspects of Denver. Explore the River North Art District (RiNo) for eye-opening galleries and profoundly creative street art. Take a stroll along the street that was once mysteriously deemed the “longest, wickedest street in America,” Colfax Avenue. Browse the seemingly infinite bookshelves at Tattered Cover Book Store and myriad music racks at Twist and Shout, guaranteed to please the most discerning bookworms and music shoppers.

What we love:

• The builders of the interior of the Colorado state capitol utilized the world’s entire known supply of Rose Onyx at the time.
• Denver brews more beer than any other North American city.
• Red Rocks Amphitheatre is where many important bands have played, including U2, whose concert video “Live at Red Rocks: Under a Blood Red Sky” has become classic.

Destination

Denver, known as the Mile High City, boasts both natural wonders and cosmopolitan convenience. The Rocky Mountains overlook cultural centers, luxury shopping, fine dining and a posh ski scene to create a diverse selection of entertainment. The city dates to the American Old West era, and its oldest block, Larimer Square, features landmark 19th-century buildings.

The city’s attractions include the Denver Art Museum, an ultramodern complex famed for its collection of works by indigenous peoples, and the Molly Brown House Museum, formerly the home of a famous Titanic survivor, Denver socialite and philanthropist Margaret “Unsinkable Molly” Brown. Both museums sit within short walks of the popular 16th Street Mall.

Hotel Check-in Requirements

By booking this DreamTrip I understand that the hotel may request a credit card upon check-in. The hotel may request the credit card in order to: a) place a monetary hold of US$50-200; or b) hold for incidental, security or other charges. By booking, I acknowledge having received notice of this potential charge and accept that Rovia™ recommends a credit card rather than a debit or bank card be used in the event the hotel requests the card. Additional Information

Please contact Travel Support if you have special requests regarding bedding, meals or medical needs, or any other questions about this trip.

Please note: At the time of booking, you will see a page with your order number and trip cost. This is your confirmation. Please retain and bring this information with you on your trip.

Private Red Rocks Park & Historic Colorado Tour:
• Children under the age of 7 are not allowed on this tour.
• Water and light snacks (granola bars) will be provided so please make sure to eat prior to going on the tour.
• During fall and winter, the weather is typically cool or cold but variable with temperatures between 30-60 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the activities take place in the mountains where weather conditions may change quickly, so we suggest the following:
• Layer clothes: Avoid heavy jackets and wear multiple layers of clothes instead. Layering is the most effective way of protecting yourself from cold and heat. People can take layers off or put layers on as needed.
• Bring a light rain jacket or windbreaker, lip balm, sunscreen, sunglasses, a camera and backpack for personal items.
• We suggest wearing sweat-wicking clothes (dry-fit, fleece, wool); and comfortable, closed-toed shoes with good support and grip. Avoid cotton especially for the base layer.
• Avoid bringing or wearing any jewelry or loose clothing.
